McAfee anti-virus software has a bug that can cause an IO error when you are installing Studio Artist on windows. You should turn if off before installing Studio Artist or the Studio Artist trial on windows. Booting your windows computer in safe mode and then doing the Studio Artist installation is also a way to resolve the problem.
Note that the IO error problem is happening because of a bug in McAfee anti-virus, not because of the Studio Artist installer. The Studio Artist windows installer is code signed, and is virus free.
BitDefender is another problematic windows anti-virus software that should not be used with Studio Artist. It patches windows memory allocation api calls, and can cause problems.
