Studio Artist 4.03 and 4.04 run fine on Apple's OSX 10.7 Lion operating system. We test this at Synthetik, and we know of many Studio Artist 4 customers who are running Lion without any problems.
Studio Artist 3.5 does not run on OSX 10.7 Lion. This is because Apple no longer supports Rosetta emulation on OSX 10.7. The same issue exists for older versions of Adobe or Microsoft software. Again, Studio Artist 4 runs fine on OSX 10.7, since it runs native on intel macs.
If you are running Studio Artist 3.5 you need to upgrade to Studio Artist 4 to run Studio Artist on OSX 10.7 Lion.
If you have a problem running Studio Artist 4 on OSX 10.7, it probably means you are running an old version of the Studio Artist plugins folder. When we released the 4.03 update, we released a new plugins folder to all mac customers in addition to the new 4.03 application file. Either replacing the old plugins folder inside of the main Studio Artist 4 folder with the latest one, or doing a complete Studio Artist 4.04 folder reinstall has resolved any problems customer had running Studio Artist 4.04 on OSX 10.7. You can always contact technical support if you are a registered Studio Artist customer and ever need a new Studio Artist folder or application instal or update.
The plugins folder is a folder within the main Studio Artist 4 folder, which contains dynamic libraries Studio Artist needs in order to run. Everything Studio Artist needs in order to run is always kept inside of the main Studio Artist folder, as opposed to being distributed throughout your computer in obscure locations like some other software applications do.
