Danny Raphael I'm evaluating SA 4 (under Windows XP) at the moment. So far, so good. It is a facinating application.
Suggestions:
1. I'd like to echo a request I saw elsewhere: Include the ability to "restore default settings" for an individual or all factory presets
2. Preset selection: Add "Do current action" command to right-click menu. This would avoid manual keypress of Ctrl + R or navigating mouse across large screen to click action button.
3. Ability to drag/drop preset favorite icons within favorites bar (top of screen) to customize their order

Regarding #1, there is a way to reset default settings for paint synthesizer presets. In the integrated help browser you can access the Paint Synthesizer Macro Edits help page. There is a macro edit command called Reinitialize, which resets the paint synthesizer parameters to initialized values.
For image operation presets, there's an ip op preset category called Tutorial : IP Op Example1. These presets can be considered default settings for the specific Ip Op effects they reference.
Regarding #3. The preset order in Favorites is currently based on default alphabetical ordering of the preset names in that Favorites category.
